ACA contains groups that can react with active hydrogen, so it can bond with inorganic fillers containing hydroxyl, carboxyl or surface adsorbed water to improve the affinity and adhesion between inorganic fillers and organic polymers, thereby increasing the dispersion effect of inorganic powders and increasing the adhesive strength.

1. Compared with other coupling agents (such as titanate, borate ester, etc.), the inorganic powder activated by aluminate coupling agent not only has stable quality, but also has light color, non-toxic, small taste and synergistic thermal stability and lubricity to PVC. It has a wide range of application, no need of diluent, easy to use and low price.
2. Various inorganic powders activated by aluminate coupling agents produce an organic molecular layer due to chemical or physical-chemical interactions on their surfaces, which changes from hydrophilic to organic-affinity. Practice has proved that the inorganic powder surface modified by aluminate coupling agent is used in composite products. The inorganic and organic end of coupling agent can react with inorganic filler surface and organic resin respectively or form entanglement structure, which enhances the interfacial compatibility between inorganic powder and organic resin. Modification can not only improve the processing properties of plastic products filled with inorganic powder, but also significantly improve the physical and mechanical properties of the products, so that the water absorption of the products is reduced, the oil absorption is reduced, and the fillers are dispersed evenly. For some plastics products with low filling, the amount of filler can be increased by a large margin (doubling or more than doubling the amount of filler than the original), the processing performance can be improved (the viscosity of the melt decreases, and the wear of the mold is reduced), the product quality can be improved, and the production cost can be reduced. Therefore, it has obvious economic benefits.
3. In the process of grinding pigment (filling) in the production of pigments and inks, quantitative coupling agents can be directly put into the process to improve the dispersion of pigments (filling), shorten the grinding time, increase fineness, brightness and reduce viscosity.

Suitable for various inorganic fillers (such as calcium carbonate, wollastonite powder, talc powder, kaolin, bentonite, gypsum powder, alumina, etc.), inorganic flame retardants (such as magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide, zinc borate, antimony trioxide, etc.) and pigments (such as iron oxide red, zinc barium white, titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, lithopone, etc.) surface activation modification. The modified fillers, flame retardants and pigments can be applied to plastic, rubber, paint, ink, laminates and binders and other composite products.
The amount of coupling agent is generally about 0.5-2.5% of the filler, and the recommended dosage is 1%. The smaller the particle size of the filler, the larger the surface area, the greater the amount of coupling agent.
